I'm sure you see the image and wonder what's going on. I decided after about of year of talking it over with some friends to start my own podcast. I talk quite a bit (not as much on my blog as I should but actually talking is easier) and I talk about a variety of subjects. Since I have such in depth discussions with friends both in person and online, several people thought it'd be a great idea for me. And it's another way to build my audience. So the beginning of the year will herald the beginning of my venture into podcasting. I have a few shows planned out and waiting to record, and am taking ideas for future topics.
Now, a writing update. Sunder was my last release. Won't spoil the ending in case you still haven't read it (it would be a great start to the year if you went and bought and read it, and leave a review). But while I have begun the follow up to that book, it's not my main project. I started a book a while back, the working title of which is Dragonborn. That is my main focus going into next year. It is not part of the Dragon Hunters or the Coven series. This will be it's own thing. There is another young adult novel in the works as well, and one pure fantasy novel. I haven't gotten far enough into either to give them a title or decide if they're standalones or new series. We'll see as the year progresses and I get more time to write.
To be fair and honest, a lot of the delay in my writing comes from family situations. I am a single parent, a foster parent to be exact, and both of my sons have challenges. Those challenges have taken up a great deal of my time, so often I find myself without the time or energy to focus on my writing. I have been able to focus a bit more lately, which is great. With the addition of the podcast and my determination to make that work, I'm more or less working on any goal I have with the idea being to set a good example for these two boys who have had rough lives already at age 8 and 13. The least I can do is show them how to work towards a goal or dream.
In addition to that, I'm editing a poetry book for my sister, which is on a deadline so I have to get to it. And I might just be moving into editing and formatting, which I'm pretty good at if I do say so myself. 2020 is set to be a big year for me, so stay with me. The next books are coming, as are the podcasts. Happy New Year to all!
