Updates: Edits have begun

So, it's been a while, but I have been busy. Plenty of work is getting done these days. The next and possibly last book of the Dragon Hunters series, Lost Vengeance, has been completed and is being edited. I am kind of glad to be done with it, for a while. It's the appropriate ending for now to the series.

My attention now turns to continuing writing on the second book of the Coven series, Sunder. This one has been a bit difficult, and like the Dragon Hunters, might be at an end. Now, to be fair, both are ending in such a way that I can continue them at a later date but for right now, these will be the final books in these series.

Now that brings the question of why. No, I'm not going to stop writing. I already waited two years to put these books out. I simply have less inclination towards romance and these stories so clearly deal with romance and the concept of soul mates and life partners and marriage. I have the inspiration to finish these books. But I really want to focus more on the fantasy and paranormal from now on, and less on the romance. Not to say that there won't be realistic relationships in my future works, but that they won't be the central theme of the story.

I have done quite a bit of work on a third novel. Purely fantasy and I'm taking my time building this main character. He's a lot different than any of my previous characters in other series. He's not hyper masculine nor ultra feminine. I built the world he's in entirely, even creating new gods for it. So once Sunder is typed up and ended, I'll focus heavily on this one, which I still need to figure out a title for. Not sure if it'll be one long standalone novel or a series, but I'm leaning towards a series (i don't think short term). But that's all I have for now. Hopefully I can get some new works to review at least. I need to read a bit more too

It has been ages since I've done any kind of update on my own work, right? It's about time I let everyone into my world again for a little bit.

So, first, the Dragon Hunters series, specifically Andreas' next book, has a new title. Lost Vengeance is far better than the original title, so that's what it is. This book is basically complete. I'm being a bit more thorough on my edits and I'm rather picky about how I tell this story. It's going to be the last in this series for a little while.

The Coven series, is flowing along much better now. The second book is well under way and I finally got back into actually writing on this. For some reason I needed a break from Talis and Dion, but now I'm back with them and it's been an interesting ride. This time around, you'll get to see a bit more of their differences and the imperfections in their relationship. This story has been fun to write, except when it's not because these two are super difficult these days. In a supernatural world, there are some natural problems that they go through. It's been fun seeing Dion assert himself instead of being so forgiveness-seeking. I'm pretty confident that you'll enjoy this second book even more than the first.

Next, I have an untitled story that I've started working on some months back, then stopped, but now I'm at it again. This one is harder just because there's no romance in this one. Straight fantasy story, at least at this point. Also the main character is not so clearly noble like my other mains are in the first two series. He has a darker side. He's a bit sneaky, very tactical, and also flamboyant which is amusing to me since I normally have very dominant and generally masculine characters. This guy is not the most masculine, has a flair for the dramatic, and he's ambitious where my other characters never needed to be. Creating his world and his background has been an experience and once Lost Vegeance and Sunder (The Coven #2) are wrapped up, I'm jumping into this one so much deeper than I've been able to so far.

A bit of a personal note. I am adopting a son. He'll be moving in at the end of May, which is exciting. So some things may get a bit hectic and spacey (more so than usual). Bear with me, raising this kid has been interesting, to say the least, just in the few months I've been visiting and working towards the move in. But he might be able to help me stay on schedule with my writing, which is definitely a good thing.

So there's the update. In the next few months, one or both of those books will be published.

It's finally time for some updates on what's going on. I know some of you have to be waiting for the next book. I'm shooting for middle of the month for a release on Blood Monarch. I'm confident you will enjoy Vlad. He's quite different from my other characters in many ways, but as all the Dragon Hunters have shown, he's intensely loyal.

Speaking of the Dragon Hunters, I'm redoing the cover for the original Dragon Hunter, Andreas. Just felt that his cover should fit in more with the others. Just a little matter of fixing the font, and then I'm going back through to find any of those editing issues I may have missed the first three or four times editing it. Might change the size of the print books as well. I kind of want to get all the books the same size. But that's not a big deal, so long as I like the new cover. I might give you all a reveal once I get the font how I want it.

We're not going to discuss Journeys because it's still not out of edits and that's beginning to bother me a great deal. I'm ready to get it out and start marketing, but that's out of my hands now.

Note on reviews, I'm technically open for them, but I have to admit, I go through phases where I don't want to read certain genres, such as anything purely hetero romance. Still, feel free to use the contact form to send me requests. Be very clear on your timelines if you have one. Sometimes it takes me a couple months to get to books just because of everyday life.
